International Red Cross, Emergency Aid Coordinator - Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Khartoum, Sudan, May 1985 - October 1985. Budget: $8,000,000. US; staff: more than sixty Federation Delegates. Upon his visit to Sudan, Hans Hoegh, Secretary-General of the Federation, offered me one of three new positions of Advisor to the Secretary-General in Geneva. Unfortunately, while I returned to Canada in order to prepare for this position, the funding was withdrawn by the Scandinavian Red Cross Societies.

Proposal writing, organization and implementation, in partnership with the EC, of airbridges and landbridges for food distribution to Darfur and otherareas. Developer and manager of the International Red Cross - EC Airbridge of fifteen C-130 Hercules and Transal 160s, and two Sikorsky helicopters airlifting hundreds of tons of food to Darfur region. Developer and manager of the International Red Cross Landbridge of hundreds of trucks and camels transporting thousands of tons of food to Darfur Region.
